Operation LunchBox

Nourish. Empower. Thrive.

Operation LunchBox is a ministry of Lost Creek United Methodist Church, in partnership with the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma’s Summer Feeding Program, that fights childhood food insecurity by providing nonperishable, boxed meals for children up to age 18  in our area. This program ensures that children of our community have access to nutritious meals during the summer break period. Check out more information below, or send us a message at operationlunchbox@lostcreekumc.org.

How do I get the meals?

The meals will be handed out on a first come, first serve basis at Oak Park Event Venue & Lodging from 6:00-7:00pm every Wednesday, beginning on May 29 and ending on August 7. This is a drive through program, you will not be required to get out of your car. Upon arrival at pickup, you will simply be asked a few information questions that we are required to record and turn into the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.

IMPORTANT: only adult parents/guardians will be able to receive the meals, we are not allowed to distribute the boxes to the children themselves. We are required to have an adult's name on file for every box that is distributed. If there is an issue with an adult being able to pick up a box, please contact Lost Creek United Methodist Church with the information below and we will try to accommodate.

All records will be kept confidential between Lost Creek United Methodist Church and the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. This is to ensure that the meals are being properly distributed and for us to know if more meals are needed on a week-by-week basis. Filling out the form will also acknowledge that pictures of the distribution process may be used for promotion by Lost Creek United Methodist Church and the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. Lost Creek United Methodist Church adheres to the United Methodist Conference’s Safe Sanctuary Guidelines regarding children, youth, and at-risk adults. How many meals will I receive?

Each 12"x12"x9" box holds 10 meals, including 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches. We will only hand out one box per child at a time. These are shelf-stable, nonperishable meals that do not require heating or refrigeration.

Lost Creek United Methodist Church and the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma does not discriminate against race, gender, or ethnicity. For more information on the United Methodist Church's Social Principles regarding discrimination, please click here. We ask that you only take the number of boxes that correlates to the number of children in your household. The number of meals distributed each week is subject to availability.
