Local Missions

Mission is a core value at Lost Creek.

We are a very "doing" church. We strive to love and care for our local communities through our various food ministries, service opportunities, and spontaneous drives. Lost Creek offers financial support to many United Methodist ministries and missions through denominational apportionments. We also extend a wide range of benevolence ministries to our community, including emergency financial assistance. We encourage our members to extend their "mission field" beyond the church walls. They do so by by volunteering at Relay for Life, hospice care, Stillwater Medical Center, foster parenting, CASA, and by serving on the local city council or school board.  Check out a few of the ways that we serve locally.
Food Ministries
Lost Creek is very involved in the Perkins and Stillwater communities through our many food ministries. To see the details of each individual ministry, we invite you to check out our 'Food Ministries' page by clicking here.
Oak Park
Our 11-acre facility is our biggest outreach into our local community. Because of its size and the number of events (both private and community) that happen on our grounds, we are always looking for a team of volunteers to clean, prepare, and organize the park's events or activities. If you are interested in serving at Oak Park, please use the button at the bottom of the page to let us know!
Christmas Missions
Christmas is always a time of increased mission work. Each year, Lost Creek uses the Angel Tree program to provide gifts for children in the area with incarcerated parents. Lost Creek also participates in the Cookson Hills Program. Individuals and groups within the church purchase household items, appliances, toiletries, and children's toys to send to Cookson Hills to be distributed. During Christmastime, members of Lost Creek make soup and snack packages for the homebound of the community and the church. Lost Creek is also the home of Cosmo's Toy Run every November. During this event, motorcyclists from around the area ride together to the church to drop off Christmas presents to be donated to Meadows of Hope.
Boy Scouts
Lost Creek proudly charters two Boy Scout Troops, Troop 802 and Troop 3804. Both troops are very active in the Stillwater community. For more information about scouting, please use the information at the bottom of this page to reach out to us.
Spontaneous Opportunities
Often, we will start a mission or a "drive" when the need arises. Recently, we held a bicycle drive for Afghan refugees in Stillwater, canned food drives, special offerings to help eliminate school lunch debt, and a donation drive to make "birthday bags" and "hygiene kits" to give to Our Daily Bread. These opportunities are rarely planned well in advance, so make sure to keep up on our social medias or on our 'Events' page to see when a new drive begins.

"...for the transformation of the world."
