Local Missions

Mission is a core value for Lost Creek. We encourage our members to be disciples at all points in their life, not just when they are in church doing "church work". We want our members to serve God's Kingdom in whatever way they feel called to do so.

Serve Local

Many members of Lost Creek extend their "mission field" into the community by volunteering at Relay for Life, hospice care, Stillwater Medical Center, foster parenting, CASA, and by serving on the local city council or school board. Lost Creek offers financial support to many United Methodist ministries and missions through denominational apportionments. We also extend a wide range of benevolence ministries to our community, including emergency financial assistance. Check out some of ways our members serve locally.

Weekly Community Drive-Thru Meals

We recently began this new food ministry out of our Oak Park Event Venue & Lodging in Perkins. Each Tuesday during the month, from 5:30-7:00pm, everyone in the community is welcome to come grab a wonderful meal. If you would like to volunteer at or sponsor a meal, please email mission@lostcreekumc.org or click the button below to get in contact with us!

Christmas Missions

Christmas is always a time of increased mission work. Each year, Lost Creek uses the Angel Tree program to provide gifts for 40 children in the area with incarcerated parents. Lost Creek also participates in the Cookson Hills Program. Lost Creek and our various ministries purchase household items, appliances, toiletries, and children's toys to send to Cookson Hills to be distributed. During Christmastime, members of Lost Creek make soup and snack packages for the homebound of the community and the church.

Rise Against Hunger

Each year during Lent, Lost Creek unites with folks from Stillwater First UMC, Highland Park UMC, and Eden Chapel to raise funds for Stop Hunger Now, a worldwide hunger relief agency. This year, we were able to raise over $25,000 to provide meals for 100,000 people. Every May we gather with these churches for a "packaging day" in which we package meals for this cause. The packing day this year is scheduled for Sunday, May 5.
