The Situation
Coming into this season, Lost Creek has three pockets of debt lingering from past projects:
This brings our total debt to right at $500,000. What's worse, we pay $37,700 per year in debt service, or 7.5% of our church's annual budget. That's almost $40,000 that could pay for more ministry, more staff, or better facilities.
Too often, discussions about present and future dreams for Lost Creek are tempered with, "If only we didn't have these debt payments," or "Maybe once we pay off our debt."
God is doing incredible things in our church. Worship numbers are climbing back to pre-pandemic levels, our Shine Zone is filled with children, our Youth Ministry is preparing to relaunch, and Oak Park is consistently booked with all kinds of groups.
And yet, our ability to dream is held down by our debt.
